- Who we are
1. Email us
Write to support@yourbeats.net. You do not need an account, and a person on our team reads every message. Tell us your handle, your phone and the app's version, the song, chart or room code it is about, and what happened. If you write from the app's Help, it puts the app's version and the system version of your phone or tablet in the subject for you.
We answer in English.
You can also write to us by post: Unbelievable Media LTD, 29 Riverside Walk, Wickford, England, SS12 0DU.
Our privacy policy says how we use what you send us and how long we keep it.
2. Report a player, a chart or a message
In the app. Report a player from their profile's menu, their run on a song's records or their seat in a room, and a player's chart from its sheet. A report from a room carries the room's last 30 messages. Guest accounts can report too.
What happens next. A person on our team reviews every report, and we never tell a player who reported them. With an email account, your inbox tells you when we have looked at your report. You can also block a player, and they are not told.
If you do not play, or cannot use the app, email support@yourbeats.net. A parent can report for their child. Tell us:
- what it is: a handle, a song, a chart or a room code;
- where and when you saw it;
- why it is a problem, and why you think it is illegal if you do;
- your name and email address;
- that you believe, in good faith, that what you say is accurate and complete.
We reply to say that we have your report. A person reviews it, and we tell you our decision and how to challenge it.
3. Someone in danger, or illegal content
If someone is in danger, contact the police first: call 999 or 112 in the UK, 112 in the EU, or your local emergency number. Then report it in the app and email us.
We remove illegal content as soon as we know of it. We may share information with the police or other authorities when the law requires it or when someone may be in danger.
4. Intimate images
YourBeats has no photo or video uploads. If an intimate image or video of you is shared on YourBeats without your consent, tell us, even if you do not play. You can also report for someone you act for. Email support@yourbeats.net with "Intimate image report" in the subject, and tell us:
- where it is: a link, a handle, a room code or a chart;
- that it shows you, or the person you act for, and was shared without consent;
- that you report in good faith and that it is true, as far as you know;
- how we can contact you.
We take it down, with any matching copies we find, as soon as we can.
5. Complaints and appeals
You can complain if you think:
- something on YourBeats is illegal, or harmful to children;
- we got a decision about your content, your account or your age wrong;
- we are not keeping our rules or the law, including how our filters treated something.
Appeals. When we act on a chart, the app tells its creator why, and they can appeal there within 14 days. If we removed your handle, avatar or a record, or closed your account, write to us. We will tell you why, and look at it again if you think we got it wrong.
How it works. Write to support@yourbeats.net. We acknowledge every complaint within 30 days, look into it, and tell you what we decided. If you are under 18, a parent or another adult you trust can help you write, and a parent can complain for their child.
Still unhappy? About your information, you can complain to the UK's Information Commission (the ICO), or to the data protection authority where you live. Our terms of use explain your right to go to court.
6. Your information
- Get a copy. With an email account: You, then Privacy and account, then Download my data.
- Correct it. Change your handle, avatar and privacy choices in the app. Write to us to correct your age group.
- Delete it. You, then Privacy and account, then Delete account (for a guest account, Delete guest data). An email account can also be deleted on our web page, https://yourbeats.net/api/v1/account/delete/web, or by writing to us from its address.
- Withdraw a consent by switching its setting off.
We reply within one month. Our privacy policy explains all your rights. In the EU, you can also write to our representative there (section 10).
7. Purchases
Premium (monthly or yearly) and Full-length charts are sold through Google Play, which takes the payment. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policies; you can also ask us. Premium renews until you cancel it in Google Play. Deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not cancel it.
8. Rights holders
If you believe something on YourBeats infringes your rights, write to support@yourbeats.net. Section 13 of our terms of use says what to include and what happens next.
9. Flashing lights and playing safely
YourBeats shows flashing lights and fast-moving effects. If you or anyone in your family has had seizures or epilepsy, talk to a doctor before you play. Stop at once if you feel dizzy or sick, or your eyes or muscles twitch. The Minimal look, in Settings, then Display, then Effects, turns off the sparks, rings and flashes. It also applies by itself while Android's "Remove animations" setting is on, unless you have chosen a look yourself. Take breaks, and look where you are going if you play on the move.
10. For authorities and the EU
Under the EU's Digital Services Act, our point of contact, for the authorities and for you, is Julie Mcarthur. She is also our legal representative in the European Union: legal@yourbeats.net. You can write to her in English, and a person reads every message. Other authorities, including the UK police, can write to legal@yourbeats.net too.
Our representative in the European Union for data protection: NordRep Data Protection Services B.V., Attn: EU Authorised Representative, Barbara Strozzilaan 201, 1083 HN Amsterdam, Netherlands.
